Nova Scotia winters are known for it’s more mild temperatures (in comparison to Alberta, that is), wet snow, and ice storms. The last few days we have had a fair bit of snow here in little Middleton. Today, though, was amazing. The snow fell silently down, creating a big, fluffy blanket all over the ground. The tree branches were piled high with clumps of snowflakes, and the plows went by the house two or three times in the afternoon in an attempt to keep up with clearing the snow off the roads.
My youngest sister, Leslie, has been down here for her Christmas Break from school, and she was more than happy to bundle up, take her dear nephew, and hike out in the woods behind our parents house.
The snow and the trees and my beautiful sister. Looking at these pictures make my heart want to burst. They are some of my favourites that I’ve ever taken.
Peppermint hot chocolate, wooly mittens, a big ole pompom touque, and a killer smile. What more can a girl ask for??
Of course, I had to get some pictures of my sweet, sweet boy and his favourite dog. The dog of course, was much more interested in the stick. So with some strategic placement of Leslie holding the stick, and stern commands of “SIT” and “STAY”, we got some great shots of the two ‘lil guys.
